My Biography
I have been a practising Physiotherapist and Acupuncturist for over 40 years. For the last few years, I have been working in Health Care and have developed an interest in the relationship between aesthetic work and positive mental outlook and physical wellbeing. Cosmetic acupuncture is a powerful technique to progress this concept of internal medicine and health lifestyle. Facial acupuncture has been practised for more than 25 years in the UK but several hundreds of years in China. My recent training has been through the London College of Chinese Medicine and has provided a solid system of practice to offer clients. I look at overall lifestyle and health issues and offer the aesthetic work as a more natural way forward to self-confidence and positive lifestyle changes.
Professional Development
As a Chartered Physiotherapist with a membership to professional bodies that relate to acupuncture and private practice, I have maintained my education and professional development, keeping up to date with changes and advances in my work. My professional memberships include: State Registered Physiotherapist , Chartered Physiotherapist, Member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, Member of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice. I am a registered Clinical Hypnotherapist and a Reiki Master. I am an NLP Practitioner. I serve patients from all over the Country

Mariko clinic is not just a building, it is a philosophy of treatment. Ian has practised in a variety of clinical settings. These range from Hospitals, Occupational Health and Private practice. He has worked with athletes and fitness professionals across many disciplines and sports. He started his career as a Physical Education teacher and combined this with his Physiotherapy training to build a practice based on good function, good human performance and well-being. Ian maintains his ongoing professional development which is a requirement of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. This entails keeping up to date with changes and improvements in clinical practice and offering the most effective evidence based treatments. Ian has a unique approach to his work and has, over the years, gained the confidence of many patients who now bring their own children to see him. Ian’s reputation for his skills and his well-known “funky shirts” help to soften the anxieties that are sometimes felt prior to treatments. As we are a family-run Clinic, we all work together in a gentle environment which will help you to feel at home and relaxed the moment you walk through the door.

I have been having face aesthetics with Ian for a few years now. To say he is amazing is an understatement! Ian and Claire are the loveliest people you could wish to meet and the way they work as a team is amazing. They make me feel completely relaxed and Claire is always there on hand to calm me if I need it and will hold my hand and chat to me throughout any treatment. They take their time to explain every aspect of a treatment and would never do anything I didn't want or understand. Ian has treated me on several occasions with acupuncture and physiotherapy. One of the most amazing occasions was after I had broken my foot. The immobilization and repair process left me with a stiff, weak ankle and foot. Walking was painful and activities such as driving and being at work were almost impossible.
