When these injections are used on certain facial muscles, it causes them to be less active and this has an effect of temporarily relaxing the facial skin, which smoothes out the wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle injections

Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid preparations that add volume to reduce the effect of lines and wrinkles and enhance structure in a positive way. Mariko Clinic offers a perfect combination of dermal fillers and cosmetic acupuncture and if appropriate Anti Wrinkle Injections to assist in achieving the most desirable fresh and natural look. As we grow older, our skin loses elasticity and moisture and begins to show the signs of ageing. Dermal fillers are a technique where the facial fillers are injected underneath the skin to gently enhance the face and diminish wrinkles and lines.

Dermal fillers are applied to areas where volume has been lost in the skin and also to the fine lines that are more superficial especially around the mouth. The area of the mouth and jaw are most commonly treated and the aim is to bring a more youthful and bright look to the face. Dermal fillers are made from natural, man-made or even synthetic materials such as hyaluronic acid and when injected under the skin, there is a plumping and firming appearance. The cosmetic language is “filling out of wrinkles and re-volumising the face”.

Treatment is focussed on:

Periorbital region. Here, sagging cheeks and prominent tear-troughs can be treated for enhancement and improving a youthful appearance.

Lower face and mouth. The nasolabial and marionette lines can be ageing and upsetting, subtle enhancement in this area can bring a youthful change.

Lips. Aesthetic proportion is vital in this area to give natural full shapely lips. Here at Mariko, we believe is good proportion and classically beautiful lines.

Skin texture. Fine injections of hyaluronic acid or dermal pen, micro-needling can be used to encourage collagen and elastin production in the skin, reducing fine lines and bringing a youthful glow back to tired skin.

Lipotropic treatment (fat dissolving) is a form of Mesotherapy whereby a specialised product is introduced under the skin to assist with the dissolving of adipose tissue. This is an up and coming procedure, which is showing very promising, results. It is available after consultation, face to face or by telephone, to explain the procedure and effects.

It is targeted at pockets of fat in areas such as "bingo wings", inner thighs, stomach, back fat and works by instantly starting to dissolve the fat cells and allowing our lymphatic system to drain that fat away. There are some after-effects so these can be explained upon consultation.
